Job Summary:
Under general supervision, provides clerical and reception duties on the unit. Assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direct supervision of a RN.
What You Will Do:
Provides for positive public/hospital relations and the effective operation of the unit by communicating appropriate information in an efficient manner.
Contributes to a complete medical/legal record by preparing and maintaining current and previous inpatient records and following correct discharge procedures.
Provides for the verification of physician's orders.
Provides for availability of supplies on the nursing unit by ordering, storing, and restocking as needed.
Contributes to accurate patient billing/cost containment.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Two years clerical experience required. Previous medical experience preferred.
Substitution: Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocation education equal one month of experience).
Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS), TEAM/BERT training within 90 days of hire.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
