Athena Medtech is seeking a qualified and motivated Cardiac Sonographer to join our imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, both routine and emergent, in a variety of clinical settings. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams including routine, emergent, portable, and intraoperative (surgical) studies

• Communicate effectively with Cardiologists regarding imaging findings and workflow coordination

• Assist with patient transport and positioning as needed

• Perform data entry, maintain accurate records, and manage image filing

• Maintain clean and stocked work areas; assist with equipment maintenance and supply management

• Participate in Quality Assurance activities to ensure high standards of care

• Fulfill other duties as assigned, including participation in on-call or standby coverage

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

• Completion of a minimum two (2) year AMA-approved program plus one (1) year of ultrasound training and certification

• Two (2) years of Allied Health education plus successful completion and certification from a two-year ARDMS program

• Completion of an AMA-accredited ultrasound program with ARDMS or CCI registration (new graduates must obtain registration within one year of hire)

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Required within 12 months of hire:

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS)

• Required:

  • Sonography Technologist License (Oregon)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 1 month of hire

• Previous experience with:

  • Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)

  • Stress Echocardiography

  • Pediatric Echocardiography

• Strong skills in:

  • Time management and organization

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking

  • Independent work and clinical decision-making

  • Communication, interpersonal relations, and customer service

  • Adapting to changing priorities and clinical needs

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and clinical demands is essential
