The mission of the Advisory and Assistance Support for Specialized Security Management program, in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory, Sensors Directorate (AFRL/RY), is to safeguard the research, development, and integration of advanced sensor technologies by implementing comprehensive security measures across personnel, industrial, information, and operations domains. This support ensures strict compliance with Department of Defense and Air Force security policies, enabling AFRL/RY to advance critical capabilities in radar, electro-optical/infrared systems, electronic warfare, signal processing, and threat identification—preserving the United States Air Force’s technological edge across air, space, and cyberspace.
ADV seeks a Cybersecurity Management/IOA Specialist to support Certification & Accreditation (C&A) duties in compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both Secret and SCI-level systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in utilizing RMF tools, managing cybersecurity documentation, conducting vulnerability assessments, and providing cybersecurity solutions to ensure the safety and integrity of mission-critical systems.
Location: The primary location of work is Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. Core hours of work are from 0900 to 1500 daily.
Travel: Travel to other government facilities may be required, including locations Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
Required Clearance: ACTIVE Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (Single Scope Background Investigation within the past five years).
Key Responsibilities:
Perform C&A duties in compliance with RMF standards for Secret and SCI-level systems, utilizing tools like eMASS, AFRL EBS, or Xacta.
Develop, implement, and document Information Assurance (IA) controls, including vulnerability scans, DISA STIG reviews, and remediation strategies.
Coordinate with system program managers to create and maintain RMF documentation and supporting artifacts (e.g., topology diagrams, hardware/software lists, action plans).
Conduct risk assessments, propose solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities, and communicate potential impacts of identified security risks.
Collaborate with RYZT Combat ID, Blue Guardian, Test, and RYSIL teams to develop cross-domain security solutions, supporting multi-sensor data fusion and integration.
Determine network architecture requirements and provide solutions for connectivity, including hardware specifications (guards, diodes) and infrastructure needs.
Assist in preparing RMF documentation to attain Interim Authority to Test (IATT)/Authorization to Operate (ATO) for flight, lab, and field testing.
Required Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of RMF process, including DoDI 8510.01, AFI 17-101, and related guidance.
Experience with RMF tools such as eMASS, AFRL EBS, Xacta, or similar systems.
Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity controls, testing procedures, and system security requirements.
Required Certifications: Active Security+, Preferred CISSP.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills - proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and integrate security solutions.
