Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT) Transportation Safety and System Analysis (TSSA) Division is currently seeking an experienced Deputy State Safety Engineer to lead and implement strategies and tactics to improve road safety. TSSA Division is part of the Multimodal Development and Delivery Division. In this role TSSA carries out department wide activities in the areas of performance management, strategic management, knowledge management, enterprise and asset risk management, research and library services, and Transportation Safety. The top candidate will develop and implement policies, processes, and guidance that results in a well performing safety program with the goal of reducing fatal and serious crashes statewide. This incumbent will oversee compliance with Federal Regulatory requirements for the highway safety and rail highway crossing safety plans and develop plans, programs, countermeasures, and assessments of safety performance for Washington’s roads.
