Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare detailed and accurate electrical cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project requirements and specifications.
Utilize estimating software to generate detailed estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and prepare competitive bids.
Ensure estimates are compliant with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and safety regulations.
Conduct site visits when necessary to assess project requirements and gather data for accurate estimates.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
Prepare and submit change orders for ongoing projects, ensuring timely and accurate updates to project budgets.
Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual expenses and identify areas for improvement.
Provide ongoing support to project teams, including cost control measures and budget management throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate should possess:
Must have 5+ years experience in electrical estimating, with a strong background in electrical systems.
Proficiency in electrical estimating software and project documentation tools.
In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans.
Excellent negotiation skills, particularly with vendors and subcontractors.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience:
Electrical estimating: 5+ years
Project management experience is a plus.
