Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our client's team. This onsite role involves selling vacuum furnaces and related components, working closely with scientist and engineers in the manufacturing and research industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proven sales record, and the ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Manage existing accounts and identify opportunities for growth, fostering relationships with key decision-makers, including senior technical staff, management, operational staff, and purchasing teams.
  • Technical Sales & Support: Provide technical solutions, prepare proposals, and assist customers with troubleshooting while collaborating with management and engineering teams.
  • Quoting & Order Management: Manage consumables and spare component quotations, compile estimates, track usage, and follow up on performance.
  • Product Education: Educate customers on product developments, enhancements, and solutions while soliciting RFPs and ensuring specifications meet customer needs.
  • Marketing & Trade Shows: Oversee trade show participation, develop marketing materials, and provide presentations to communicate product offerings.
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel up to 25-40% to visit clients and attend industry events.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Technical degree or training required; an engineering background is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum seven years of business-to-business technical sales experience, ideally in manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, graphite sales, power supplies, vacuum pumps, or related fields.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, active listening, adaptability, critical thinking, and presentation skills. Ability to negotiate pricing and contracts effectively.
  • Sales & Marketing Knowledge: Understanding of advertising and sales promotion techniques.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $125,000 - $150,000
  • Bonus: Up to 20% annually , primarily based on sales targets and margin goals.

Desired Skills and Experience

Marketing & Trade Shows: Lead trade show efforts, including booth selection, content creation, and logistics. Assist in the development of marketing materials and campaigns in print and digital formats. Deliver presentations to customers on product offerings and benefits.

Travel: Domestic and international travel up to 25-40% to meet with clients and attend industry events.
