POSITION TITLE: Professor, Chemistry/Physics
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Full-time, 9-month position
LOCATION: Carthage Campus
BEGINNING DATE: August 15, 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach Chemistry courses and oversee the Chemistry Lab and/or Physics and Physics Lab. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising students, participating in and leading committees, preparing instructional materials, participating in professional development activities for faculty, budgeting, participating in recruitment and retention activities, and building a positive public image for the College. Work with a flexible schedule, including evening and off-campus classes as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Chemistry or Physics; willingness to pursue 18 graduate hours in the other discipline to meet instructional qualifications for both subject areas. Teaching experience at the college level preferred. Teaching experience using Canvas. Must have strong communication skills, ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff. Must have a commitment to the philosophy of the science program and the college.
COMPENSATION: The salary offered will be commensurate with educational background and work experience.
