Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Warehouse Supervisor maintains the smooth operation of a fast -moving environment. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and leadership of people within the warehouse function, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures. Responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 15-20 union staff that is picking bulk fresh produce and the loading of outbound freight. This person must be comfortable being a decision maker and working closely with multiple departments to ensure timely outbound shipments. 

POSITION SPECIFICS

• Compensation Information: Up to $65,000 annual salary DOQ with $10,000 annual bonus
• Schedule/Shift Information: Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday 3pm to close. Must be flexible. 

• Benefits: Include PTO, Medical, Dental, STD and Life Insurance as well as 401k with a 4% company match.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Lead an outstanding team of warehouse associates in preparing, picking, and loading fresh produce orders.
• Collaborate with different departments to ensure that outbound freight times are met.
• Strong two-way communication to information and listen to changing customer needs.
• Problem-solving and brainstorming on a regular basis.
• Work closely with Quality team on inventory needs.
• Build outbound paperwork for shipping daily (as needed).
• Build and run reports on a nightly basis
• Review shipments and determine freight loading sequence for the day.
• Always ensure a safe working environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.
• Be comfortable training team members 1:1 and in small groups.
• Perform basic math.
• Understand the value of working as part of a team, and the need of the team to be successful by working in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Working with Fresh Produce or Grocery
• Previous work experience with MRP, ERP, or WMS technology preferred.
• Produce Pro experience is a big plus, but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• This position works/offices on the warehouse floor, where the temperature is 50 degrees on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in a medium-high noise environment.
• Ability to walk the warehouse to observe, coach and trouble shoot.
• Possess the ability to complete data entry and use phones for communication and paging.
